I really enjoyed this story but it seems a little too long. I thought a lot of the story was relevant but some of the details could have been left out. I did love the characters and how they came together. Also how dedicated they are to their friends. Wonderful love story with a great concept.
Surprising read. Twisted plot. Very dark. Sophie and Mark are such strong characters and truly surprised me with a lot of their decisions throughout the book. Loved this book. So different from what I thought it would be. Interesting view of the dark world of corruption.
Mr. Dark, was more of a 3.5. Oh believe me not bad at all. I actually liked how Mark & Sophie were able to turn their knowledge against the evil ones, KUDOS!! It just seemed to be average to me. That may also be due to some of my own personal issues, sorry. But all in all is really was a great read!!

This book was a lot different then what I normally read. I liked it, but I'm not sure if I would re-read it if I had the chance. I am a fan of Lauren Landish's writing. Sophie and Mark go through some really hard things. I love that Mark chose Sophie over his work. Great writing!
Awesome hot read. This collection had drama,intrigue,mystery, and one fabulous merging of good and bad. Yup this hot read kept me guessing what will happen next for these characters and their almost comic heros.
Mr. Dark started out intriguing. I couldn't read fast enough. However, a switch flipped and I felt like I was reading a book that combined The Walking Dead, Marvel Agents of Shield, and Arrow. The more I read the more I felt as though I was reading a season of Arrow. Having said that, I did like the premise of the heroine becoming a strong character and not just someone in need of being saved.
The only reason I gave Mr. Dark 4 stars instead of 3.5 Stars is because I haven't really read anything like this story (even though I've seen it on TV). The author kept my interest and thought outside of the box of a normal romance book. For that, I must give her credit. I don't know if I'll read the second book.
WOW this book is awesome, Sophia and Mark are the perfect fit, she’s a medical student that reluctantly goes out with her friends one night to a night club, meets Mark at first she is really shy, she feels over weight and not really his type, Mark on the other hand being a secret hitman and all out bad ass is drawn to her, he shows off his observation skills by guessing her hand cream and occupation , he seems to be a little standoffish with her about drinking, dancing, dating. To Mark she was just a distraction for the night her she wanted to take it slow and get to know him, when she picks the right music to listen to in the private VIP lounge the conversation not his expensive watch or where he bought his clothes but art and interesting conversation, he gives in a little, he gives in and dances with her she gets shy and turned on and starts blubbering about needing to leave because of class and work the next day, he gets a call for a job not to far from her apartment, she reluctantly let's him take her home her best friend Tabby is at table of men and gives her the thumbs up. Once Mark gets her home he kisses her and sparks fly, he ends up giving her his real phone number (which is a big no no in his profession ) he goes on the hit, and is all worked up and ends up her door the have mind blowing sex, over the next month they have gone in a few dates but their schedules are busy him killing people and beating up one of her doctor bosses at her internship at the hospital for being an ass to her and her with working at a bar as a bartender (which is owned by crooked politicians and mob bosses) one morning while eating breakfast in bed and discussing their relationship (which in his profession is a big no no) he seems to be breaking all the rules for her, there is a knock at his door, three men are there also in the mob making demands, noticing Sophia they curiosity is peeked, the rat Mark out but in the mean time Sophia is questioning Mark about the scary men and what his real job is, Mark doesn't answer so she packs the few things she had brought over to his condo and leaves him, Mark gets a call from his main boss and meets him he is ordered to kill Sophia because she works for a rival family, Mark refuses saying he didn't know and he will break it off with her but the boss man won't have it. Meanwhile Sophia goes to work heartbroken and miserable, meets a customer and talks about Mark and his shady attitude the customer gives her sound advice, Mark call Sophia to meet up at her place and tells her he loves her, shocked at his admission she meets him he shows up in weird clothing and a old pickup not his sleek sports car. He rushes her inside starts to tell her about his profession when men burst through her door guns blasing, Mark kills the with little effort, after he explains his profession and the danger she is in and all the rules he has broken for her, still professing his love, shedecides to leave with him and not except the million dollars he was going to give her to make s new life somewhere safe. They leave together but after checking her messages she finds our that Tabby has been kidnapped and the want her and Mark to go to the same night club where they met, they rescue Tabby, spend two weeks in a private bunker Mark owns teaching Tabby how to survive when they leave, after reassuring Sophia and Mark she is fine, Sophia and Mark leave the country traveling and getting plastic surgery to hide their identities and train Sophia in martial arts and shooting a gun (which she is a natural at) so they can can return home and right the wrongs of Marks bosses, they become vigilantes. Sophia still keeping her medical training. When they return they set out to take down the mob and it's followers, with all the money that Mark has accumulated by investing most of his pay, they return as wealthy Angel investors, with Tabby being their goto girl. WI think these investments they are finding some shady businesses and one in particular pops up they are a family owned business and are looking for an investor so Tabby checks them out and becomes a target again she attaches her self to the owners oldest son and tries to have what Sophia and Mark have, she thinks he's the ONE it turns out he really wanted her to give him all the dirt on Mark and Sophia so he can rob them blind. Mark and Sophia catch on to his plans to late (he doesn't still them blind) Tabby thinks she in love, Mark pays him a visit as his old self the Snowman and tapes him saying his intentions then Mark drugs him with some real potent stuff causes all kinds of things to happen if he even thinks about Tabby again, turn out the guy is married and his wife is pregnant the family is know as the house of cards. After revealing this to Tabby she goes through alot of changes, hair, attitude, clothing life style she throws her self into work, as the time passes and the three if them build a legitimate business along with Sophia and Mark being vigilantes, the streets are getting cleaner and business is booming Sophia starts dreaming of a family, Mark is afraid that the world would be better if they didn’t , but afraid of loosing Sophia if he continues to say no he gives in, but one after their last job and take down the Mayor. There are exciting guns battles, martial art fights, flying through the sky, breaking into computers, electronic gagets, bomb making and exposions, hot sex scenes, a marriage a pregnancy and a HFN Ending. The book ends with more plastic surgery and new names . The series continues with Tabby story with Mark and Sophia sightings.
